Old Fashioned Cocktail

Need a last-minute gift for a host/ess with the mostest? Infused liquors are always a good choice. They’re as easy as pouring stuff into a bottle, and all you need is your alcohol of choice and a flavor you love. One of my favorite flavors is Earl Grey tea. The bergamot provides a floral and citrus boldness that (IMO) many teas lack. Earl Grey Infused Bourbon makes a terrific Old Fashioned or Manhattan. It also looks beautiful packaged in a small glass bottle with a bow. Earl Grey Infused Bourbon only takes a few days to infuse, so if you make it today, you’ll have plenty of time to gift it to those lucky loved ones.

For an added bonus, print out the following cocktail recipe and tie it to the neck of the bottle with a bow. You can even pair a bottle of Earl Grey Infused Bourbon with those delicious cocktail cherries from a few days ago, and your friends will love you forever.

Old Earl
Makes 2 drinks

3 ounces Earl Grey bourbon
3 dashes of bitters
2 sugar cubes
2 strips orange zest
2 small orange wedges
2 cocktail cherries
Ice, as needed
2 ounces bourbon
Club soda

  1. Add the sugar cube, bitters, orange wedge and cherry to the bottom of an old-fashioned glass. Use a small spoon or a muddler to muddle the cube into the liquids so the sugar will begin to dissolve.
  2. Add ice to the glass and top with bourbon and club soda and stir well. Top with the strip of orange zest and cherry.
